Hydrotherapy gives your baby the freedom to move, stretch and explore their body in a warm, calming water environment.
The gentle resistance and buoyancy of the water can encourage:
- Freedom of movement and exploration
- Muscle activity as baby kicks, stretches and moves
- Balance, co-ordination and body awareness
- Sensory stimulation through movement and water
- Relaxation in a warm, soothing environment
- Confidence and familiarity with water
- Special bonding time between baby and parent
Our hydrotherapy spas also feature gentle water jets, creating soft movement and stimulation around your baby's body. The combination of warm water, gentle movement and activity can be particularly relaxing and may help encourage the natural movement of the digestive system.
And one of our favourite things parents tell us? Their little ones often have an amazing sleep after their Beba session! All that kicking, exploring, warm water and relaxation can make for one very content - and sometimes very sleepy - bub afterwards!
Every baby experiences hydrotherapy differently. At Beba Spa, every session is designed to be gentle, nurturing and led by your baby.
Babies are welcome at Beba Spa from 2 weeks through to 10 months of age.
We love welcoming little ones at every stage, although starting earlier gives your baby more time to become familiar and comfortable with the hydrotherapy experience as they grow.
There's no requirement to have attended previously - whether it's your baby's very first visit at 2 weeks, 6 months or even a little later, we'd love to welcome you both to Beba Spa.
Every baby enjoys their very own individual hydrotherapy pod - we will never put your baby in the water with another baby.
Having individual pods gives each little one their own space to float, kick, stretch and explore at their own pace, while allowing our team to tailor the Beba experience to what makes bub feel most comfortable and content.
Your baby will also have their own dedicated change and massage area, so the whole experience feels personal, relaxed and special for you and your little one.
At Beba Spa, we believe some things are simply better one little bub at a time.
Not much - we've got most things covered!
We provide fresh towels, a swim nappy and everything needed for your baby's spa experience.
Please bring:
- A fresh nappy for bub to wear after their session
- Bub's dummy or favourite comfort item, if they use one
- Anything you may need for a feed before or after the session.
That's it - bring your bub and we'll take care of the rest.
We recommend feeding bub around 30 minutes before their session, giving their little tummy some time to settle before hydrotherapy.
Of course, you know your baby best. Every bub has their own feeding routine and hunger cues, so if they need a feed closer to their session, that's completely okay - just let our team know when you arrive.
Hydrotherapy can also work up an appetite, so we recommend being prepared for another feed afterwards!
We recommend arriving 5-10 minutes before your scheduled session. This gives you plenty of time to get settled and comfortable before the Beba experience begins.
Where possible, please complete your waiver and required forms before arriving, so we can spend less time on paperwork and more time focusing on you and your little one.
We know life with a baby doesn't always runs to schedule, so don't stress if things don't go perfectly to plan. We simply ask that you are arrive as close to our appointment time as possible, as sessions are booked back-to-back throughout the day.
Please allow up to 45 minutes for your Beba Spa experience, although every session is guided by your baby and may be a little shorter depending on how they're feeling on the day.
Your little one will begin with their hydrotherapy experience, where they can float, kick, stretch and explore the water at their own pace. Some babies are happy to stay in the water longer than others - that's completely okay! We follow bub's cues rather than trying to reach a set amount of time.
For packages that include infant massage, hydrotherapy is followed by a gentle massage, giving bub a chance to wind down and relax after their time in the water.
No two Beba sessions are exactly the same - we let your little one set the pace.
To keep Beba Spa a calm, relaxing and safe space for our little guests, we ask that a maximum of two adults attend with each baby.
Unfortunately, we're unable to accommodate siblings or other children during sessions. With water pods, massage areas and lots of little ones relaxing, limiting numbers with help us maintain the environment while allow our team to give each baby the attention they deserve.
We know arranging care for siblings isn't always easy, so we appreciate your understanding and helping us keep Beba a special little place for your bub.
We know that getting anywhere on time with a little one doesn't always go to plan! If you're running late, please give us a call and let our team know as soon as you can.
As our appointments run to a schedule, unfortunately we're unable to extend your session beyond its original finish time, as this would impact the families booked after you.
If you arrive late, we'll always do our best to give bub a beautiful Beba experience with the time remaining. However, if you are 30 minutes or more late, your session may need to be cancelled and the session fee forfeited.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone's appointments running smoothly.
There's no set number of sessions your baby need to attend - every family is different and Beba can be enjoyed as a one-off experience or as part of our little one's regular routine.
For families that choose to attend regularly, weekly or fortnightly sessions are a lovely way for bub to become familiar and comfortable with the Beba experience as they grow.
Some families visit us for a special occasion, while others make Beba part of their regular routine. There's no right or wrong - choose what works best for your and your baby.
We recommend allowing at least 24-48 hours after your baby's immunisations before attending Beba Spa. This gives bub some time to rest and allows you to see how they're feeling following their vaccinations.
Some babies may be a little sleepier, unsettled or develop a mild temperature afterwards, so we want them feeling comfortable and ready to enjoy their Beba experience.
If your baby is still feeling unsettled or unwell after 48 hours, we recommend waiting until they're back to their usual selves before visiting.
As always, you know your baby best, and if you have any concerns following their immunisations, speak with your healthcare professional before attending.
We understand that plans can change - especially with little ones! If you need to cancel or reschedule your Beba Spa session, we ask that you provide us with at least 12 hours' notice.
Changes made with more than 12 hours' notice can be easily rescheduled via the online portal or by contacting our team.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 12 hours of your appointment, as well as no-shows, will result in the session being forfeited. This applies to individual bookings and sessions redeemed from a package or membership.
If bub becomes unexpectedly unwell, please contact our team as soon as possible. We never want you to bring an unwell little one into the spa simply because you're worried about losing your session, and we'll do our best to work with you.
Our cancellation policy helps us keep appointment times available for other Beba families and ensures our little spa runs smoothly.
For experiences that include infant massage, you'll be the one massaging your baby, guided by our Beba team through a series of gentle, age-appropriate techniques.
We believe this is an important part of the experience - not only is massage a beautiful opportunity for connection and bonding, but you'll also learn simple techniques that you can continue to use with bub at home.
We'll guide you through gentle strokes designed to encourage relaxation, body awareness and a calming sensory experience, as well as tummy massage techniques that parents may find helpful when their little one is experiencing wind or general tummy discomfort.
Most importantly, massage is always led by your baby's cues. Some little ones love a longer massage after hydrotherapy, while others have had enough after a few minutes - and that's perfectly okay.
It's less about completing a massage routine and more about creating a calm, nurturing moment between you and your beba.
Your baby's safety and comfort are our highest priority throughout every Beba Spa experience.
We use non-inflatable, pearl-filled flotation supports, which are individually adjusted to suit your baby for a secure and comfortable fit. The buoyancy of the water supports bub's body as they float, meaning the flotation support is not carrying their full body weight through their neck.
Before entering the water, your baby's float is carefully fitted and checked by our trained team. Throughout their hydrotherapy session, bub is closely supervised at all times, while we continually monitor their positioning, breathing, comfort and individual cues.
Babies are never left unattended in our water pods and if your little one appears uncomfortable or has simply had enough, we'll adjust or finish their time in the water.
Every Beba experience is baby-led, with close supervision, comfort and safety at the heart of every session.
We know how delicate baby skin can be, which is why we keep things simple and gentle!
At Beba Spa, we use organic grapeseed oil during our infant massage sessions. It's a lightweight oil that allows for gentle massage without the need for added fragrances or unnecessary ingredients.
If your baby has sensitive skin, allergies, eczema or another skin concern, please let our team know before your session. You're also welcome to bring a preferred oil or product that you already know works well with your baby's skin.
Our focus is always on keeping bub's massage experience gentle, comfortable and nurturing.
We keep our hydrotherapy experience simple and gentle for little skin.
Our water is continually treated using an ozone filtration system throughout the day, allowing us to maintain a clean hydrotherapy environment without adding traditional pool chemicals such as chlorine to your baby's pod.
The pods also feature gentle massage jets, which create soft movement through the water for a soothing sensory experience. The jets can be adjusted or switched off depending on bub's comfort and individual cues.
A spa of their own, beautifully maintained water and an experience tailored to your little one.
